Asa's dim view of bright

Later,it said: "Congratulations","Great news! ","You were officially selected as the latest recipient of a special gift cheque award. "And"REMEMBER,YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO RECEIVE MONEY DUE YOU WHEN YOU TAKE ACTION. ".That they had been awarded a considerable sum".

Update 13 june, 2012.The asa has slated bright life again, this time over junk mail that michael kors handbags outlet had the words"Written warning"On the envelope followed by"Money due you will be forfeited at midnight on 16 february unless you sign and return the required papers by deadline date".This upset my mother as she tried to tell the operator about the bank statement she held in her hand clearly stated that the cheque had cleared and the statement the company had sent with the order also said 'balance paid'!They then requested that my mother produced a copy of the statement for their records!Once told of this i telephoned the company giving them a piece of my mind concerning their incompetence and said i would send them a copy of the cheque via lloyds bank.Well.I have done this twice and returned goods and as yet have not received a refund(I will be contacting this company to see where my refund is today)I have got so fed up with keep returning forms i have now torn up the last one and binned it, thinking how much longer have i got to wait to receive a cash prize.I have given up! .

My order has not arrived(Unfortunately i paid them over 100).I now realize i could be at the beginning of a scam. They claim they have delivered it twice.Foolishly i have waited in the house for many days as i did not wish to miss the delivery and i know they have not delivered it.They have told me they will deliver it again so i will once again wait for another 10 14 days for it to be delivered! If i receive the goods i will post another comment to say so.If no goods arrive i will give further warnings to everyone. And following that, i will give more warnings if the money is not returned.

This company is a joke, my 74 year old mother has placed many orders with this company and up till now has had little problems.Recently she placed an order for 19.94 including postage, after four weeks she got a letter telling her that she had not sent the full payment and to send the outstanding amout of.You got it 19.94.The day after they sent her that letter they sent her another one with a cheque for the full amount refunded for the cancelled items. When i tried to ring them and query what was going on surprise surprise there was no one there to take my call and i would receive a call back to which i'm still waiting.

I bought a national paper michael kors watches online this morning and found a bright life catalouge inside. It makes good reading and i was interested in some of the merchandise. When i arrived home i thought i would google it, as they do not show a web address and yes you have guessed correct i was directed to this page. After reading all your comments(Great stuff everybody)And thanks for showing me the way before i could have made a big mistake and been out of pocket like some of the poor people who have been duped. The catalouge is now in the bin.Once again many thanks.

I am also getting fed up with bright life uk jdm marketing ltd.I have had some good items over the last couple of years but lately the goods have gone down in quality and the range hasn't changed from catalogue to catalogue, just inserted in a different arrangement.I am giving up with them once i have tried to get a refund for a pair of slippers that after two months have fallen apart.Wish me luck. The largest chaque i have received is 1.24p.Where do you deal with these people? The address on the letter sending the cheques is in ny, the postbox address is in liverpool and the catalogue where it says terms and conditions(Which are not included you have to send off for them)The address is in switzerland. The web site says send them an e mail, i have not yet found an e mail address anywhere.

I have only just come across this webpage and read all of the comments above i wish i was better with a computer!I have several questions i would like to ask, but if it is too much of a tall order, i apologise in advance. Here goes;I ordered some items last month and have not heard anything about this order ever since! Can this 'outfit' get any information from either:My name address, tele no:Or cheque sent to them to 'hack into an account elsewhere? Can anyone tell me if items from this 'outfit' are 'really sent from switzeland' and if so, are there added customs charges? !

I have also been a brightlite shopper but stopped entering their draws after getting a winners cheque for 63p!What they sell is shoddy but you gets what you pay for.Recently i tried to order by phone and was on hold for 17mins before giving up and posting the order.I ordered 3 items and should have got a free watch. However only 2 items arrived and no free watch.I rang to complain and was given another number to ring also an 0871.No joy there either. They will then have to pay the return postage so will stop sending eventually.Yes they are in india in spite of the liverpool address

Hi all and thanks for the comments here i found this page because i have always ordered from them through their catalogue and wondered if i could order through a website instead.I have been buying via their catalogues for a year now loads of stuff for myself and parents mainly disabilty equipment and stuff like that i have never had any problem at all with them. They send free gifts which i can always find a home for.I must have made ten orders in the last 6 months and not one problem.Am i just lucky?

Having read all these comments, i'm rather confused, but there seems to be two main issues here:

1)The usual marketing ploy of a 'competition'/'draw' and/or a 'congratulatory' letter telling you about the zillions you've won(Perhaps).Just remember the old adage"If something sounds 'too good to be true' it probably isn't! "Don't waste your time, energy and postage money bin them!

2)Commandment no.1 when dealing with ANY mail order company: "Thou shalt not write out any cheques for goods which one hopes to receive thou shouldst always use thine credit card; For lo, when thy goods fail to arrive, or if they are in a woeful state, tou tellest thine credit card company, who whilst then vend their wroth upon the unfaithful merchant, refund thine money and then seek mighty vengeance upon the merchant".You'll need to fill in a few forms of course, and you'd better be kosher in your claim, but generally credit card companies are very good at using their considerable 'muscle'in these situations.

Yes, the 'small print' of their 'terms and conditions' is daunting, and they seem to be 'hiding' as sub agents for sub agents to the main organisation based in the us with a sort of 'satellite' operation in switzerland; And there's all sorts of customs excise implications about who owns the goods and when etc, so all in all seems a legal minefield(But then, to be honest, so do most 'terms conditions'one scrolls down on virtually everything online and then dutifully puts the tick in if you want to use the service, purchase that book/cd etc! )

Finally, as for the company itself.I've used them twice now, and on both occasions had to 'chase up'my order after about a month but i got through straight away to their helpline, and after giving my postcode they tracked my order and gave me the reason for the delay; Then told me when it would be arriving which was accurate.

Re briht life uk after recieving there cataloque via my motabillity cat i ordered 40 michael kors watches women worth of goods on the 3rd august yesterday 11th aug i recieved a card through my door with the name hermes courier which is blank with the words sorry i mssed you nothing else i contacted this company but they will not answer the phone i have phoned bright life uk 7 times now ansewring machine but if you ring the order line they pick it up this company is still scamming people just to make people aware as it looks like i have lost my money be aware and dont do any buying from this company

I have actually been a bright life customer but have to say not a happy one. They have failed to deliver goods to me which i have paid for.

I have rung and written to them asking for a refund of7.99 for ice treads which I ordered and paid michael kors watches women for in dec 2011 and to date have not received or had a refund.

I wrote to them on 17th january 2012 explaining what had gone on and asked for a cheque for 7.99 to be sent to me and to date I have still not had a reply from them or my money back.I have thought about ordering goods to the value of 7.99 and saying you had my money all ready but then I would still have a further 4.95 to pay for postage and packing if in deed they would allow me to order in this way.

It would probably cost me more than 7.99 to take them to a small claims court, but I don't know what else to do.
